I made a thing!
It’s a pretty simple thing. But I made it, and to fight the urge to "perfect" it before I show it, Imma just get it out there. So here it is!

What is the thing?
I made a small, macOS menuBar application that rings a bell. Yup. That’s it. Just that. You click "ding" and it plays a sound that you choose from a list. I uploaded this to Gumroad, cause I don’t want to charge for it (it’s really simple), and I though "Hey, if people want to toss a few dollars my way, I want a way outside of Apple’s ecosystem to do that."
Why make this thing?
Sometimes, I just like to hear a nice simple bell. For me, it’s a bit of a clearing, purifying experience. It clears the air, so to speak.
For many years, I practiced Aikido. There’s a bit of a formalized practice at the beginning and end of each class. You bow to a picture of the founder of the art, clap twice (the founder was Shinto – Morihei Ueshiba), and bow again. So I like to have that idea sometimes. It just provides a sound to break up the day.
I do plan to update the thing
It’s a small thing, there’s not a lot of ‘need’ for it, but I’m gonna update a few things here and there. That’s it!
